Job Title: Adjunct Instructor, College of Law

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare for assigned courses, which includes developing the syllabus, selecting unique teaching materials, and preparing course materials and assessments/exams. The syllabus should comprise course descriptions, learning objectives, assessment/exam dates, teaching and exam policies, required and recommended materials, assignments, and College/University policies.
- Create a conducive classroom environment for learning.
- Teach assigned course(s) using effective pedagogical methods.
- Track student attendance and refer students to Administration if required for attendance and/or performance issues.
- Utilize the institution's learning management platforms (TWEN, Canvas) for posting assignments, syllabi, and other reference materials, and for communication with students.
- Provide timely written feedback on submitted student work and assessments/exams.
- Establish and maintain office hours to provide individualized direction and assessment of student progress.
- Coordinate with Administration to schedule make-up classes for any canceled classes to ensure the proper number of teaching hours is completed.
- Grade all mid-term and final exam papers/exams, and other assessments in accordance with the College’s rules and submit grades per timelines established by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
- Review student-completed course evaluations to analyze student perceptions and provide insight into possible teaching improvements.
- Adhere to all University and College of Law policies.
- Complete all employment documentation and any required trainings.

Education and Experience Information:
- Hold a Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school or the equivalent.
- Five years . work experience in legal practice or a related field. Exceptions may be made for applicants with fewer years of experience when co-teaching with someone who meets the minimum experience requirement.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Maintain professional composure and demeanor.
- Promote the vision, mission, and core values of the College.

Additional Qualifications Considered:
- Prior teaching experience is desirable but not essential. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of teaching potential.
- Face-to-face instruction is the default mode of teaching, though distance learning instruction may be approved under conditions outlined in the College's Distance Learning Policy.
