A law firm is currently seeking an Attorney for their Springfield office, specializing in civil rights. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation in civil rights cases. The role requires a deep understanding of constitutional law, and civil liberties and effective advocacy skills to protect and promote the rights of clients.

 

Duties:

  • Handle a diverse range of civil rights cases, including discrimination, constitutional violations, and other civil liberties issues.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop compelling case strategies.
  • Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and appellate briefs.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with civil rights organizations, advocacy groups, and community stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about changes in civil rights laws and precedents.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active State of Illinois and/or Missouri Law license, in good standing.
  • 0-10 years of experience in civil rights.
  • Strong knowledge of constitutional law and civil rights statutes.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
