Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a mid-level associate with 3-4 years of focused experience in handling complex workplace disputes. The role centers around representing employers in high-stakes matters involving workplace rights, restrictive covenants, wage issues, and class-based actions. This position offers a challenging caseload and exposure to a variety of sophisticated legal issues in the employment litigation arena. The ideal candidate brings a proven litigation track record, a strategic mindset, and is already licensed to practice in California.
Duties:
Handle all phases of litigation, including initial case assessments, discovery, motions practice, and trial preparation
Represent corporate clients in individual and class/collective action employment disputes
Advise clients on matters involving trade secrets, employee mobility, restrictive covenants, and compensation structures
Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, and motion papers for court filings
Participate in strategy development, deposition preparation, and hearings
Collaborate with colleagues across litigation and advisory teams on multi-faceted cases
Support risk mitigation efforts and client counseling on workplace policies and regulatory compliance
Requirements:
3-4 years of dedicated litigation experience, preferably with an emphasis on employment-related disputes
Familiarity with California employment law and local procedural rules
Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation and meet tight deadlines
Experience with class or collective actions, wage and hour matters, and/or non-compete issues preferred
Strong written and oral advocacy skills
Admission to the State Bar of California is required
Education:
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited . law school
Strong academic performance preferred
Certifications:
Active and good standing membership with the California State Bar
Skills:
Proficiency in legal research and litigation drafting
Exceptional analytical thinking and case management ability
Strong interpersonal communication and client service orientation
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-volume practice
