Job Title: West Coast Calendar Senior Staff Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
The West Coast Calendar Senior Staff Attorney plays a critical role within the Court Services Department at the law firm. The primary responsibilities include advising litigation attorneys and staff on procedural issues related to federal and state courts. This involves reviewing court filings and litigation documents, verifying the calculation of procedural deadlines, and monitoring the entry of dates using the firm's calendar software. The attorney acts as a resource for questions regarding civil procedure and case management across California, Washington, Oregon, and other states. Additional duties include:

- Advising attorneys and staff on court procedures and rules.
- Providing guidance on procedural strategies.
- Responding to inquiries from attorneys and staff about court calendaring, civil and criminal procedures, and individual judges' rules.
- Monitoring both paper and electronic service and filing of court-related documents.
- Assisting with and overseeing the entry of all litigation deadlines into Compulaw, the . calendaring software.
- Reviewing court filings to ensure compliance with applicable procedural rules.
- Conducting research on court rules, civil procedures, and case histories as needed.
- Preparing correspondence for court personnel and/or external services as necessary for court filings.
- Acting as a liaison between attorneys and the courts.
- Assisting with applications for various court bar memberships.
- Coordinating the payment of filing fees, bar dues, and association memberships.
- Collaborating with other managers in the Court Services Department and various other departments such as CaseStream, the Service Center, and Research & Information.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the West Coast Calendar Senior Staff Attorney position must possess a JD Degree and be actively admitted to practice law in California, Oregon, or Washington State. The position requires a minimum of three years of prior related experience. Additional qualifications include:

- Experience and knowledge of California state and federal court procedures.
- Familiarity with Aderant-Compulaw or similar calendaring software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- The ability to organize a high-volume workload and effectively interact with personnel at all levels.
- Capability to multitask and work under pressure and conflicting circumstances.
- Previous management experience is preferred.
- Ability to manage change within a dynamic and progressive organization while maintaining a commitment to the firm's core values.
- A judicial clerkship or prior managing attorney experience is considered a plus.

Salary Information:
The expected salary range for the West Coast Calendar Senior Staff Attorney position varies based on location:

- California Major Markets: $139,000 - $241,000
- National: $129,000 - $211,000

California Major Markets include San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, and Santa Monica. All other California locations fall within the National range. The compensation package is comprehensive and competitive, with the level of pay within the range depending on various job-related factors such as qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, and geography. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, determined by firm and individual performance.
