Job Title: 2L Summer Associate (IP)
Job Responsibilities:
The 2L Summer Associate (IP) will engage in a summer program that provides meaningful exposure to substantive legal assignments in the field of Intellectual Property. The program includes robust mentoring, networking, and learning opportunities designed to lay a strong foundation for a successful legal career. Associates will work within various departments, including Patent Prosecution & Litigation, Trademark, Copyright, Privacy & IP. The responsibilities will involve working on assignments that require technical expertise and legal acumen, contributing to various IP-related projects, and actively engaging in the firm’s professional environment.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must be law students with technical backgrounds in fields such as electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or physics. An advanced degree in Chemistry or a . in any science/engineering field is also considered valuable, especially if it qualifies the student to take the Patent Bar Exam. Prior industry experience, patent prosecution experience, and a patent registration number are advantageous but not mandatory. The firm values previous work experience, academic excellence at the undergraduate, graduate, and law school levels, participation in law review, moot court, or mock trial experience, and significant writing and oral communication skills.
