The Tax Senior Services Manager position is available at EY, a leading global professional services firm with a dedicated business unit for the financial services industry. This role is focused on US and global tax information reporting and withholding matters, and offers the opportunity to work with a range of clients in the financial services sector.
Location and Salary:
- The position is located in New York, but can also be based in other locations within the region.
- The salary range for this role is competitive, with a base salary range of $126,600 to $289,000 for all geographic locations in the US.
- For New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento), the salary range is $151,900 to $328,400.
Job Description:
- The Tax Senior Services Manager will work in a group environment on challenging tax information reporting and withholding engagements across all financial services sectors.
- This role offers specialization in assisting clients with mission-critical tax and customer reporting operations.
- The Customer Tax Operations and Reporting (CTORS) team focuses on non-resident alien withholding and reporting, Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), and domestic withholding and reporting matters, as well as non-US indirect taxes.
- The role involves serving as a lead for the tax operations team, managing day-to-day interactions with clients, and overseeing the team's work, progress, and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the operations team and providing visibility to leadership on status, issues, or situations that need to be addressed.
- Managing and monitoring the team's work, progress reporting, workload, quality, and utilization.
- Ensuring consistent and standardized processes and procedures are implemented and coordinating training as needed.
- Supporting client internal and external audits by providing documentation of current processes.
- Evidencing performance and introducing efficiencies through the production of appropriate KRI's and KPI's.
- Taking responsibility for service quality and managing engagement risk.
- Understanding the business financials and ensuring work is completed within budget.
- Leveraging standard technologies and processes to drive efficiency and quality of deliverables.
- Acting as a counselor and coach to develop a team of tax professionals and participating in their performance management.
- Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Tax, Law, or Economics.
- A minimum of 8+ years of operational delivery experience.
- CPA, EA, licensed attorney, Project Management Professional, or Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong data analysis capabilities.
- Change management, operations, and process improvement experience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and proven skills in developing employees.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, as well as presentation skills.
- Excellent organization, process, and people management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as tax accounting systems.
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong operations skills, tax technical skills not required but preferred.
- Experience managing a production line team.
