Job Overview:
A well-established law firm based in New Jersey is seeking a seasoned Senior Corporate Attorney to join its legal team. This position offers the opportunity to lead complex corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, compliance, and contract negotiations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of corporate law, experience managing junior attorneys, and the ability to offer strategic counsel to clients. This is a leadership role with room to expand practice areas and potentially integrate an existing book of business.

Location:

  • Woodland Park, New Jersey

Duties:

  • Oversee and manage complex corporate legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, compliance, and transactional matters

  • Advise clients on legal rights, responsibilities, and risks in business operations

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements

  • Represent clients in corporate-related legal proceedings and negotiations

  • Develop and implement legal strategies, policies, and procedures

  • Research changes in corporate law and ensure client compliance with applicable regulations

  • Lead and mentor a team of corporate associates and support staff

  • Assist with business development initiatives and client retention

  • Manage client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact for legal consultations

Requirements:

  • 10–15 years of experience practicing corporate law

  • Prior experience managing or mentoring junior attorneys

  • Demonstrated leadership in transactional and regulatory matters

  • Proven ability to work independently and lead legal teams effectively

  • An existing book of business is highly desirable

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing membership with the state bar (New Jersey preferred)

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of corporate law, business transactions, and compliance

  • Strong legal research and analytical abilities

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills

  • High level of professionalism and sound judgment

  • Ability to manage client expectations and multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities
