A respected law firm based in Chicago, IL is seeking a driven Litigation Associate with experience in insurance defense. This position provides the chance to take ownership of litigation files and engage directly in all phases of the legal process, including courtroom appearances. Ideal for an attorney who thrives in both independent and team-oriented environments, this role demands strong procedural knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal advocacy.
Advocate on behalf of insurance providers and their clients in personal injury, property loss, and similar liability cases
Draft and review legal documents including motions, pleadings, and discovery
Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies tailored to case objectives
Represent clients at depositions, hearings, mediations, and potentially at trial
Navigate matters in accordance with Illinois and federal procedural rules
Collaborate with legal team members to prepare cases efficiently and thoroughly
Background in insurance defense or civil litigation
Familiarity with Illinois and federal court procedures
Demonstrated ability to manage casework independently
Trial or courtroom experience considered a strong asset
Current, active license to practice in Illinois
Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar
Skilled in legal drafting, research, and litigation planning
Clear and persuasive communication, both written and oral
Strong organizational habits and multitasking capability
Analytical thinker with a meticulous eye for detail
