A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced International Trade Attorney with a portable book of business to join its Business Group. This opportunity offers engagement with a diverse client base handling sophisticated international transactions, customs compliance, and trade regulatory matters across multiple industry sectors.

Location

  • New York City, NY

Duties

  • Advise and counsel clients on customs and import control matters, including tariff classification, valuation, and transfer pricing

  • Provide guidance on forced labor compliance, audits, and customs enforcement of antidumping and countervailing duty orders

  • Assist clients in navigating international trade regulations and agreements

  • Draft, review, and negotiate international trade and compliance documentation

  • Collaborate with attorneys across various practice areas on multidisciplinary matters

  • Conduct legal research related to international trade issues

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and participate in business development initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in customs law, trade remedies, regulatory compliance, and international transactions

  • Proven track record advising businesses engaged in global trade

  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and independently

  • Strong client-service orientation and proactive problem-solving approach

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in at least one . jurisdiction

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of customs compliance, antidumping/countervailing duty regulations, and trade laws

  • Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within diverse teams
