Job Responsibilities:
Tax Services Interns are integral members of client service teams within the company. Their roles are designed to mirror those of Associates, providing them with a comprehensive training environment that fosters both formal and on-the-job learning to develop their technical skills. Interns are immersed in a professional setting that enhances their interpersonal and technical abilities, broadening their understanding of tax implications across various industries. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in researching tax laws, rules, and regulations, and analyzing their application to specific situations. This involves drafting memorandums to defend decisions and/or outline solutions to identified issues.
- Participating and aiding in select phases of tax compliance engagements, which include preparing individual, estate, gift, and fiduciary tax returns.
- Collaborating as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping clients address complex business issues.
- Proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback to enhance learning and performance.
- Supporting select projects by demonstrating creative thinking and individual initiative while contributing as a team member.
- Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks, while exercising professional skepticism.
Education and Experience Information:
To be eligible for this internship, candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Alternatively, they may be pursuing an advanced degree in Accounting, Taxation, JD, or LLM. Eligible students should be in their third year of a four-year degree program or in their fourth year of a five-year degree program. Interns typically join the company during the winter/spring or summer before their intended graduation year. Additional requirements include:

- Initiative to seek out opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with various levels of client and company management through both written and verbal communication.
Prior to starting full-time, it is preferred that students will be eligible to sit for the primary credential exam appropriate for the relevant practice area, such as having 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam in certain states.
