Job Title: Fellowship Positions for 2025-2027
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and present proposals for work in the area of poverty law, focusing on legal advocacy for disenfranchised individuals or groups.
- Collaborate with organization attorneys to refine project proposals.
- Address unmet needs of underserved populations or remove barriers to opportunity, with an emphasis on serving rural Ohioans.
- Work closely with organization to develop and navigate the fellowship process.
- Be prepared to quickly develop the project proposal for submission to an outside fellowship sponsor by the specified deadline.
- Engage in legal advocacy and representation for issues not adequately addressed in the current legal system.
Education and Experience Information:
- Candidates must be 3L law students or recent law graduates.
- Demonstrated interest in public interest law.
- Strong academic records are required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to handle a demanding workload.
- Eligibility to take the Ohio Bar Exam in July 2026 is required.
- Candidates who can be admitted to practice law in Ohio prior to July 2026 or submit a UBE transfer application to the Supreme Court of Ohio by January 15, 2026, may also be considered.
