Job Overview:
A leading national law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join its Corporate Department, focusing on employment and labor law matters. The position offers the flexibility to be based in Chicago, IL, or any of the firm’s . offices. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of experience advising corporate clients on a broad range of employment issues, with a strong foundation in regulatory compliance and contract drafting. This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated matters in a collaborative, client-focused legal environment.

Duties:
Advise clients on employment law compliance, including:
Worker classification
Wage and hour laws
Immigration matters
Unions and collective bargaining issues
Equal employment opportunity laws
Employment policies and handbooks
Draft, review, and negotiate:
Employment agreements
Separation agreements
Restrictive covenants (non-compete, non-solicit, etc.)
Advise on reductions-in-force and WARN Act compliance
Conduct employment-related due diligence for corporate transactions
Draft and interpret employment-related representations and covenants in M&A and investment documents
Requirements:
5–7 years of experience practicing employment law at a nationally recognized law firm
Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced corporate environment
Familiarity with employment law implications in business transactions
Experience with both counseling and drafting in employment-related contexts
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar membership in good standing or eligibility to waive into the jurisdiction of the office where the attorney will be based
Skills:
Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
Superior organization and time management abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Team-oriented with a client-service mindset
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across practice areas
