A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its legal team in Rochester, NY. This full-time role involves defending clients charged with impaired driving offenses. While prior courtroom experience is preferred, the firm is open to training the right candidate. The successful attorney will provide sound legal counsel, maintain professionalism, and navigate a fast-paced legal environment. Travel to various courts in Monroe County and surrounding areas is required. This role offers growth opportunities in a supportive team atmosphere.

Duties

  • Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and negotiations related to impaired driving offenses
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date case files and records within the office
  • Provide clear communication to clients about their cases, options, and potential outcomes
  • Stay informed on legal developments and changes in regulations related to impaired driving laws
  • Work closely with colleagues to collaborate on case strategies and client service
  • Manage a caseload efficiently while ensuring deadlines and legal obligations are met

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and legal research skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience in a law office setting is advantageous but not required
  • Willingness to travel to various courts within Monroe County and surrounding areas

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active New York State Bar membership
