Job Title: Assistant United States Attorney (Asset Forfeiture)

Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Asset Forfeiture Division will be responsible for enforcing federal asset forfeiture criminal and civil laws. The position involves working on investigations and prosecutions related to illegal immigration, illegal trafficking of drugs and human beings, and targeting cartels, transnational criminal organizations, and designated global terrorists. The AUSA will collaborate with Criminal Division AUSAs on forfeiture-related issues in criminal prosecutions and manage asset forfeiture matters, including financial investigations, seizures, and final disposition of assets. The role also entails handling civil forfeiture matters, filing, and litigating civil forfeiture cases in the district. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as training and experience progress.

Education and Experience Information:
Applicants must possess a . Degree and be an active member of the bar in any . jurisdiction. At least one year of . legal or other relevant experience is required. United States citizenship is mandatory. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in asset forfeiture investigations and prosecutions, or white-collar fraud litigation. Candidates should have superior oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to function in a demanding environment with minimal guidance. Strong academic credentials and at least three years of . experience are preferred.

Salary Information:
The salary for an Assistant United States Attorney is administratively determined based on the number of years of professional attorney experience. The basic pay range for AD 21 to AD 29 is $120,086 to $195,100, which includes a % locality pay.

Additional Information:
