Job Title: Product Counsel, UG & Search
Job Responsibilities:
The Product Counsel will be part of the global product legal team at the company, playing a crucial role in supporting the company's innovative initiatives, products, and platforms in the global video market. This position requires the attorney to work closely with internal stakeholders to conduct thorough analysis and provide pragmatic and strategic legal advice. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the legal review of new products and features on a global scale, based on a comprehensive risk assessment.
- Ensuring compliance with worldwide regulatory requirements, with a focus on entertainment platforms and social media.
- Advising user growth and search product teams on complex issues, facilitating the development of creative solutions for product feature innovation.
- Coordinating with regional counsels and various subject matter expert legal counsels to consolidate and globalize legal feedback for product teams.
- Managing internal communication, projects, and training initiatives among different teams, including regional legal, product organizations, and subject matter expert legal groups.
- Monitoring industry trends related to the regulation of online platforms, social media, entertainment platforms, privacy, generative AI, data protection, and minor safety & protection, identifying critical areas for the company to address.
Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Qualified to practice law and in good standing in the United States.
- At least 5 years of experience advising on laws related to privacy, consumer protection, minor safety, user campaigns, marketing and promotional activities, and other regulatory requirements, ideally for a multinational company, advising across multiple markets, and considering laws across regions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in counseling on platform liability, intellectual property, and generative AI.
- In-house experience in an international, matrixed organization.
- Strong drafting, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in analyzing products for compliance with applicable laws.
- Detail-oriented and experienced in coordinating across multiple teams or countries.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive work ethic.
- Determination to face tough challenges in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of humor.
Salary Information:
For Pay Transparency, the base salary range for this position in the selected city is $162,133 - $303,240 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of the Total Package provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
