Summary:

The SALT Manager, Unclaimed Property, is responsible for advising clients on tax implications and other accounting related matters related to unclaimed property compliance and consulting. This unique role offers the opportunity to use tax and accounting skills in a consultative capacity, working with sporadic data sets to analyze and model. The SALT Manager will also be responsible for project management, presentations to clients and states, coordinating compliance, audit defense and VDAs, and other consulting engagements. In addition, the SALT Manager will work with Core Tax and Audit Partners to provide expertise to clients.

Job Duties:

- Research and analyze complex situations, keeping up-to-date with changes in unclaimed property statutes and regulations
- Manage unclaimed property compliance, including data gathering, reconciliation, and responding to state notices
- Provide consulting services, including drafting memorandums and opinions, developing policies and procedures, and representing clients in audits and voluntary disclosures
- Manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously, while also participating in business development and networking opportunities
- Represent clients in unclaimed property controversy matters and utilize relevant software to complete assigned tasks

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Supervise SALT Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements, ensuring they are trained on relevant software and providing periodic performance feedback
- Act as a career advisor to SALT Senior Associates and Associates

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
- Five or more years of experience in tax, financial statement auditing, internal auditing, or forensic accounting
- CPA certification or equivalent required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, required
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, and other software preferred

Salary:

Individual salaries for this role will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skills, and location. The national salary range for this position is $79,800 - $168,000, with similar ranges in specific locations such as Maryland, NYC/Long Island/Westchester, and Washington DC.
