Job Title: Financial Services Tax - Real Estate Manager

Job Responsibilities:
A career in the Financial Services Tax practice within Corporate Tax services at the company offers the opportunity to assist clients in meeting their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. The role involves advising clients on their local and overseas tax affairs and acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. The manager will also help organizations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties and provide advice on tax implications of deals. The responsibilities include helping clients navigate the frequently changing and complex national and international tax environment related to stringent capital requirements, management of operational tax risks, and tax implications of investing in different jurisdictions. The role involves tax structuring and addressing challenges of the continuously changing tax world, both locally and globally.

As a Manager, the individual will work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. The responsibilities include developing new skills outside of comfort zone, acting to resolve issues which prevent the team from working effectively, coaching others, recognizing their strengths, and encouraging them to take ownership of their personal development. The manager will analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations, use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations, address sub-standard work or work that does not meet the firm's/client's expectations, use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making, develop a point of view on key global trends, and manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties.

This is achieved by equipping professionals to succeed in a world where transactions are faster and more complicated, requiring a deeper level of sophistication. Education and Experience Information:
Basic Qualifications include a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. A minimum of 4 years of experience is required. Certification(s) required include CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials that may qualify for this opportunity.

Preferred Qualifications include thorough knowledge of tax compliance methods, strategy consulting for Real Estate Investment Trusts, and Real Estate Partnerships. Considerable knowledge of partnership structures and their impact on real estate transactions and corresponding tax liabilities is preferred. A comprehensive understanding of accounting of Unrelated Business Taxable Income is also desired.

The position requires comprehensive technical skills, including providing full services to real estate owners, developers, and investors, including publicly traded REITS, institutional real estate funds managed by financial institutions, and privately held real estate entities. Considerable experience in identifying and addressing client needs, building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement, communicating value propositions, managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collections, and preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials is necessary.

The role demands considerable experience as a team leader, supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust, seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation, and coaching staff, including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback. Success as a tax technical business advisor, including developing new relationships, making introductions to sell new services, and doing so with a "One Firm" service mindset is demonstrated. Preferred familiarity with a CRM system is advantageous.

The role also involves demonstrating knowledge of automation and digitization in a professional services environment, including but not limited to innovating through new and existing technologies, experimenting with digitization solutions, working with large, complex data sets to build models, leveraging data visualization tools to provide insights to clients, and utilizing digitization tools to reduce hours and optimize engagements. Knowledge of alternative fee arrangements, including the use of pricing tools to provide a point of view on pricing strategies, is also required.

Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $98,300 - $266,000, with individuals potentially being eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
