Job Overview
A law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney to join its eDiscovery team. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience advising and supporting clients and case teams through all phases of the discovery process, including preservation, processing, review, and production. The Senior Discovery Attorney will also provide expertise in pre-litigation information governance, deposition and witness preparation, and trial support. The role requires close collaboration with attorneys, technologists, and clients to create case-specific eDiscovery workflows and protocols aimed at risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility. Additionally, the position involves overseeing and ensuring high-quality deliverables from junior attorneys and service providers.

Duties

  • Advise and support case teams and clients through all phases of eDiscovery, including preservation, processing, review, and production.
  • Provide guidance on pre-litigation information governance, deposition/witness preparation, and trial support when applicable.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and clients to develop and implement tailored eDiscovery workflows and protocols.
  • Oversee the quality and efficiency of work produced by junior attorneys, project attorneys, and service providers.
  • Ensure that eDiscovery workflows are focused on risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility while identifying the critical information necessary for case success.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state where the position is located.
  • In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage complex discovery workflows and deliver strategic eDiscovery advice.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Preferred: eDiscovery-related certifications, such as Relativity Certified Pro or Certified E-Discovery Specialist.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, particularly in corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity tools.
  • Expertise in Relativity (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control and risk management.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
