A law firm located in Toledo, OH, is seeking a driven and experienced attorney to join its litigation practice focused on personal injury matters. This role involves managing a mix of active litigation files and pre-litigation cases, with responsibilities spanning from case initiation through trial. The position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a supportive team dedicated to client advocacy and results.
Handle all stages of personal injury litigation, including trial
Prepare and submit pleadings, motions, and discovery materials
Conduct depositions of witnesses and expert professionals
Represent clients in mediations, court hearings, and jury trials
Investigate claims, interview clients and witnesses, and assess case value
Negotiate settlements with defense counsel and insurers
Collaborate with legal assistants, investigators, and other legal staff
Maintain thorough case documentation and records
Monitor legal trends and changes relevant to personal injury practice
Admission to the Ohio Bar and in good standing
Minimum 1 year of experience handling litigation in personal injury law
2-5 years of plaintiff or defense personal injury practice
Demonstrated ability to manage case files from inception to resolution
Proficiency in legal research, motion practice, and trial preparation
Strong negotiation and communication abilities
Capacity to operate independently while contributing to team efforts
Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Ohio
Legal writing and oral advocacy
