Job Responsibilities
As a 2026 2L Finance Summer Associate at a leading law firm, the candidate will be a full member of the Summer Associate Program within the Finance Business Unit. The responsibilities include:
- Engaging in substantive work across various practice groups including Banking & Finance, Public Finance, Real Estate, Restructuring, and Structured Finance.
- Participating in assignments and gaining insights into the practice of law, with opportunities to shadow attorneys and partake in national and local trainings.
- Involvement in workshops designed to enhance legal writing skills and public speaking abilities.
- Engaging in social programming and unique events to foster relationships with fellow Summer Associates and attorneys at the firm, such as participating in activities like sushi making, attending baseball games, and other social outings.
- Working under the guidance of partner sponsors who will supervise work assignments, networking, and career coaching tailored to the finance sector.
- Performance during the summer and academic excellence in the subsequent year may lead to an offer for a first-year associate position within the Finance Business Unit.
Education and Experience Information
- Applicants must be rising 2Ls (class of 2027) pursuing a JD at an ABA-accredited law school.
- 2Ls attending a part-time program or pursuing a JD/MBA degree at an ABA-accredited law school, who are not graduating in 2027, are also eligible.
- The firm seeks entrepreneurial, determined, and engaged students with strong academic credentials.
- Demonstrated interest in the Finance Business Unit through relevant past work experience and/or academic exposure in finance-related fields is required.
- Applicants must submit a resume, transcript (including Spring semester grades when available), and a cover letter articulating interest in both the position and the firm.
Salary Information
