The Law Firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction law. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling construction contract claims, both public and private. This position requires knowledge and experience in various areas of construction law, including arbitration, trial preparation, mechanic’s liens, stop notices, bid protests, public contract law, prompt payment law, and payment and performance bonds. The Associate Attorney will also be responsible for handling construction claims for contract extras, delay damages, impact damages, and assessment of liquidated damages.
The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in construction contract claims, with a focus on public and private contracts. They must also have experience with arbitration and have participated in at least one arbitration or trial. Additionally, the candidate must have a strong understanding of alternate project delivery methods and be familiar with deposition experience and law and motion practice.
The Associate Attorney will work closely with clients and must possess excellent communication and writing skills. They will be responsible for drafting motions, depositions, and letters related to construction litigation issues. The candidate must also have experience in preparing and responding to written discovery and conducting depositions.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Handling construction contract claims, both public and private
Preparing for and participating in arbitrations and trials
Managing mechanic’s liens, stop notices, bid protests, public contract law, prompt payment law, and payment and performance bonds
Assisting with construction claims for contract extras, delay damages, impact damages, and assessment of liquidated damages
Conducting depositions of percipient and expert witnesses
Drafting motions, depositions, and letters related to construction litigation issues
Preparing and responding to written discovery
Communicating with clients and providing a high level of professionalism and competence in both legal and strategic practical issues
Taking ownership of cases and developing effective strategies
Demonstrating a self-starter attitude and strong follow-through skills
