Job Title: Employment Attorney (Special Counsel) - Remote

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm specializing in labor and employment law is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney with 7+ years of expertise in employment law and litigation. This is a remote role with a focus on handling administrative charges, attorney demand letters, and employment-related litigation for a range of clients, including those with Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI). The position offers a supportive virtual office environment with the flexibility of remote work and the opportunity to work on challenging, full-cycle litigation matters.
Duties:
- Manage a variety of employment law matters, including administrative charges, demand letters, and single-plaintiff litigation.
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and staff, guiding legal strategies, case development, and review of work product.
- Represent clients in hearings, depositions, conferences, and trials.
- Collaborate closely with partners and attorneys on case strategy and execution.
- Potential involvement in class actions, PAGA cases, and other complex employment law matters.
- Travel for local hearings and trials, as necessary.
- Work with a team of paralegals and a shared secretarial pool for support.
- Focus on providing high-quality legal services with no business development or non-billable hour pressure.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in employment law and litigation.
- Strong experience with administrative charges, employment litigation, and demand letters.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote work environment.
- Active Bar membership in good standing in at least one state (preferably California).
- Expertise in handling EPLI-covered matters.
- Experience working within a law firm setting is preferred.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Active Bar membership in IL.
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of employment law and litigation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
