Job Title: Tax/Legal Analyst, Indirect Tax
Job Responsibilities:
The Tax/Legal Analyst is accountable for ensuring that ONESOURCE™ applications and offerings are in compliance with tax rules and laws. The key responsibilities include:
- Conducting research, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of tax laws and regulations to enable accurate tax determination and compliance.
- Continuously monitoring tax statutes, regulations, legislative activities, court decisions, compliance forms, and geographic boundaries to stay informed of changes in laws and regulations.
- Implementing new content and making content changes within applications, ensuring work is completed within prescribed deadlines.
- Designing and executing test scenarios to ensure the accuracy and functionality of the content.
- Corresponding with tax authorities to obtain content requirements.
- Collaborating with Customer Support to research and respond to client inquiries.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in tax, accounting, and/or finance is required.
- Additional qualifications such as JD, LLM, MBA, or CPA/Chartered Tax Adviser are desirable.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of relevant tax experience.
- The candidate should be detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of interpreting, analyzing, and organizing detailed legal, tax jurisdiction, and/or geographic material.
- Proficiency in utilizing online research tools and/or data sources like Checkpoint, Tax Analysts, and WestLaw.
- The ability to consistently meet rigid and recurring deadlines.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write white papers on tax and/or geography technical subjects.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Intermediate to advanced software skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
- Ability to work and learn independently with minimal supervision.
- Fluency in English is required.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working for a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
- Knowledge of Indirect Tax.
- Experience with tax calculation and compliance software such as ONESOURCE™.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in languages other than English is an advantage.
Salary Information:
The base compensation for this role varies depending on the location and is positioned within a range based on several factors including knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. The expected pay range for locations such as New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC, is $64,540 - $119,860. For other eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the range is $56,000 - $104,000. This role may also be eligible for an annual bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is just one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
