Job Title: Principal Strategy Consultant - Pharmacy Business
Job Responsibilities:
The Principal Strategy Consultant is tasked with supporting leadership in projects related to pharmacy strategy development, planning, and implementation. The aim is to drive growth, improve the affordability of products and services, and respond to competitive trends and external forces within the pharmacy sector. Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging in strategic, planning, and implementation projects that align with senior Enterprise Pharmacy and company leadership priorities. Example projects may involve evolving the economic model in various pharmacy lines of business in response to competitive trends, developing medical drug strategies across fee schedules, preferred drugs, rebates, and sites of care, and supporting the improvement of Pharmacy Stars metrics.
- Conducting both quantitative and qualitative analysis to synthesize information, generate insights, and derive strategic implications from internal, market, and competitor data.
- Framing strategic options and developing recommendations for future actions based on strategic analysis.
- Collaborating on initiative identification, roadmap development, and business case creation and refinement.
- Monitoring implementation progress, assessing progress, and escalating issues while providing a perspective on where leadership assistance is needed.
- Supporting the development and coordination of presentations, communications, planning materials, and other strategy-related documents.
- Maintaining and growing a set of cross-functional relationships, particularly at the leadership level, to achieve desired goals and outcomes.
- Ensuring alignment among Enterprise Pharmacy, corporate, and cross-functional priorities in collaboration with leadership.
Education and Experience Information:
The required qualifications for this role include:
- A minimum of 3 years of strategic consulting experience at a top-tier consulting firm or a Bachelor’s degree/Master’s Degree/MBA with 7 years of relevant strategic experience.
- Knowledge and experience in corporate strategy, transformation, and strategic development, planning, and implementation.
- The ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, provide insights, inform decision-making, and make recommendations for new opportunities.
- Skills in critical thinking and problem-solving to proactively identify and resolve complex problems.
- Experience in project management for managing complex projects.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal effectiveness to build connections, drive results across matrixed environments, and work directly with leadership.
- Effective communication skills in verbal, written, and visual channels.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, quickly evolving organization, managing multiple and complex priorities.
Preferred qualifications include:
- An advanced degree such as an MBA, MHA, MD, JD, or PhD.
- Experience in the healthcare industry, especially within the pharmacy value chain.
- Experience with corporate strategy, growth strategy, product strategy, or business case development.
Salary Information:
The compensation for the Principal Strategy Consultant role ranges from $110, to $198,. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
