Job Title: Corporate Claim Litigation Attorney Expert (Remote)

Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee first and third-party claims of heightened exposure, complex extra-contractual matters, bad faith, and other major litigation related to insurance claims.
- Perform extra-contractual analysis based on factual and legal issues.
- Provide advice to the Claims Organization on extra-contractual and bad faith issues, as well as recommendations for resolution and strategies to mitigate risk related to insurance claims.
- Prepare and present recommendations for settlement of claims where there is extra-contractual risk.
- Work closely with outside counsel and the Claims Organization in the oversight of high exposure and complex claims in litigation.
- Collaborate with business colleagues and other in-house legal teams to develop and implement recommendations related to the handling of claims.
- Provide advice and counsel to the business with respect to litigation strategies and on emerging legal issues and risks.

Education:
- Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing within the state of practice.

Experience:
- At least 7 years of relevant substantive experience in a law firm or in-house legal department related to insurance defense work.
- Some experience managing or litigating bad faith or extra-contractual allegations.
- Experience handling 1st and 3rd party property claims is preferred.

Functional Skills:
- Project management skills and law firm/vendor management experience.
- Ability to interact with all levels of personnel and supervise/oversee the work of more junior resources.
- Utilizes subject matter expertise to coach and guide less experienced team members.
- Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office suite, used in or related to the tasks performed.
- Experience with LexisNexis or similar tools.
- Required insurance defense experience.

- This job does not have supervisory duties.

Compensation:
- Compensation offered for this role is $104, – $187, annually, based on experience and qualifications.
