Job Title: Mechanical Patent Associate - Mid to Senior Level
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the strategic development of patent portfolios, including patent procurement and prosecution.
- Engage in client counseling and patent portfolio management.
- Conduct patent analysis and support patent litigation efforts.
- Work directly with clients from various industries, both domestically and internationally.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to meet client needs.
- Manage a large docket efficiently, ensuring adherence to internal and external deadlines.
Education and Experience Information:
- 2-5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution, either in-house or as outside counsel, specifically in mechanical arts such as recreational vehicles, industrial devices, medical devices, and consumer devices.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering is preferred, although candidates with other degrees will be considered.
- Additional legal, industry, and/or academic experience in mechanical engineering or related fields is desirable.
- Active bar admission in California, New York, Oregon, Washington, or Washington, .
- Must be registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Strong time management and organizational skills are required.
- Familiarity with the operations of large organizations with established patent programs, including international organizations, is beneficial.
- Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Salary Information:
- The annualized salary range for this position in California, New York, Washington, and Washington, . is $260,000 to $315,000.
- Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
