Job Responsibilities:
As a National Tax Office & Transactional Specialist Intern, you will be engaged in tasks that significantly contribute to the financial health and assurance of organizations, both large and small. Your responsibilities will include:
- Considering tax issues associated with mergers and acquisitions.
- Researching complex tax issues and drafting technical memoranda.
- Assisting with international tax structuring and operational issues.
- Preparing tax returns and serving as an integral part of engagement teams for clients.
- Assisting with National Tax Office functions, such as writing internal and external tax alerts on current tax developments and emerging planning techniques.
- Assisting with internal tax education functions.
- Handling the tax aspects of transactions.
- Engaging in meaningful interactions with staff at all levels and with a diverse range of clients.
- Deepening your knowledge in tax and tax consulting through exposure to various service lines.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates applying for the National Tax Office & Transactional Specialist Intern position should meet the following qualifications:
- Detail-oriented leader with problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- Strong interest in tax law, as demonstrated by tax courses completed or planned before graduation.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting; or a Master's degree in accounting or tax.
- Must be pursuing an LLM, JD, or CPA license.
- Academic success, with a minimum cumulative GPA of .
Salary Information:
For applicants in Colorado and Illinois, the monthly base salary range is as follows: $36 to $36. Compensation is commensurate with technical skills and experience and is provided in accordance with applicable state requirements.
Additional Information:
This position is non-exempt and may require work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week. Some local, national, and occasional international travel may be required. The company offers a robust benefits package for eligible staff, which includes health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, effective on the first of the month following the start date. Other benefits include Flexible Time Off, various predetermined holidays, a 401(k) plan, flexible benefits plans, business-related travel expense, lodging, and meal reimbursement. Interns and Contractors have the option to elect health insurance under the contingent staff medical plan as of the first of the month following 60 days of employment, along with limited paid sick time. Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits.
