A prominent law firm with a strong presence across the western United States is currently seeking a Mid-Level Tax Associate to join its accomplished tax and corporate practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact transactions in sectors such as energy, agribusiness, technology, and healthcare. The position is ideal for an attorney with 3–5 years of experience in federal tax law who is looking to deepen their involvement in both transactional and controversy matters, including renewable energy financing and corporate structuring. Location:

  • Sacramento, CA

Duties:

  • Advise clients on the federal tax aspects of complex business transactions

  • Assist in structuring mergers, acquisitions, equity/debt financings, and fund formations

  • Provide strategic guidance on renewable energy transactions and tax credit structuring

  • Represent clients in tax controversy matters, including state and local disputes

  • Collaborate with partners and cross-functional teams across various practice areas

  • Draft legal memoranda, contracts, and tax-related opinions

  • Conduct legal research and monitor tax law developments affecting client industries

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in federal tax law

  • Demonstrated experience in both transactional tax and controversy matters

  • Familiarity with renewable energy finance and tax credit structures strongly preferred

  • Background in corporate finance and entity structuring desirable

  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects with cross-office collaboration

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one . jurisdiction

  • Must be in good standing with the applicable state bar
