Job Title: Tax Director - Personal Financial Services
Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Director in the Personal Financial Services practice at the company will engage in a wide array of business advisory services aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and focusing on personal wealth strategy. The director will be responsible for:
- Supporting the team to innovate and improve working methodologies when necessary.
- Arranging and sponsoring suitable assignments and experiences to help individuals realize their potential and support their long-term aspirations.
- Identifying market gaps and spotting opportunities to create value propositions.
- Looking for opportunities to scale efficiencies and implement new ways of working across multiple projects and environments.
- Creating an environment where people and technology collaborate effectively to achieve more than they could independently.
- Promoting and encouraging the appreciation of diversity when working within diverse teams.
- Driving and taking ownership of developing connections that deliver optimal outcomes for both people and stakeholders.

The role also involves aiding High Net Worth Individuals and private wealth management structures with advisory needs, such as audit, tax compliance, and planning, to enhance operational efficiency and focus on personal wealth strategy. This includes developing, designing, and implementing plans to achieve personal wealth goals and their maintenance for future generations.
Education and Experience Information:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree
- Required Fields of Study: Accounting
- Minimum Years of Experience: 8 years
- Certification(s) Required: CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should demonstrate thought leader-level abilities and/or a proven record of success in consulting with high net worth individuals in areas such as:
- Financial planning
- Wealth transfer planning
- Business succession planning or trust and estate work
The candidate should possess comprehensive technical skills with Form 1040 for High Net Worth individuals and Form K1 production and compliance. They should have considerable experience in identifying and addressing client needs, developing and sustaining deep client relationships, and leading as a business advisor. This includes developing new relationships, making introductions to sell new services, and doing so with a "One Firm" service mindset. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in leading teams to generate a vision, establish direction, motivate members, create an atmosphere of trust, leverage diverse views, coach staff, and encourage improvement and innovation.
The role requires innovation through new and existing technologies, along with experimenting with digitization solutions. The candidate should be adept at working with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools to provide insights to clients. Utilizing digitization tools to reduce hours and optimize engagements, as well as advancing pricing strategy through the use of pricing tools and influencing a shift to alternative fee arrangements, are also key components of the role.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Tax Director position is between $140,900 and $434,000. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
