Job Title: Senior Litigation Analyst

Job Responsibilities:
1. Legal Bill Review:
- Conduct timely and accurate legal bill reviews in accordance with bill review standards and company guidelines.
- Ensure fair processing of invoices with accurate payable amounts.
- Collaborate with Regional Managers to integrate appropriate billing filters into the company's billing process.
- Communicate adjustment rationales with sufficient detail.
- Coordinate with the Legal Practices Operations team for accurate vendor invoice processing.
- Ensure 100% of legal bills are processed within 45 days and develop related reporting.
- Manage bill review and pending invoices for assigned regions or business lines, assisting other specialists to achieve timely invoice processing.
- Assess bill review based on total dollars per month, invoice count, and line items.
- Facilitate information exchange with Claims regarding billing issues.
- Identify opportunities for further investigation through discussions with Claims and law firms, escalating observations internally and to the Regional Manager.
- Drive development of Bottom-line Legal eXchange upgrades for system improvement.
- Leverage personal billing and practice experience to challenge billing entries and issues with firms on a line item level.
- Manage the handling of appeals efficiently.

2. Litigation Expense Containment Training:
- Create and administer litigation cost containment training for Claims.
- Provide comprehensive training from an attorney’s perspective to Claim field handlers.
- Conduct training by line of business and practice area, including Auto, General Liability, Property Damage/Construction Defect, and Professional Liability claims.
- Address billing issue identification and common firm practices in training.
- Develop training topics and materials via PowerPoint and deliver training to claims personnel.
- Support Claim reorganization and regional alignment with Claim Centers and territories.
- Integrate with claim centers to educate new litigation handlers on legal bill auditing.
- Report quarterly on participation in events and training within the region.
- Articulate the unit's purpose, goals, and direction to enlist field support for panel counsel management and bill review.
- Provide training and guidance to Claims leadership on bill review and litigation expense management.
- Obtain competitive intelligence for the unit based on field experiences.

3. Quality Business Reviews:
- Participate in quality reviews with Regional Managers of Counsel and the Claims field office.
- Support the panel counsel quality program through remote and on-site quality review of panel firms.
- Provide feedback on case handling decisions and firm billing practices during quality reviews.
- Support panel firm consolidation efforts by providing billing trend feedback and data analytics.
- Assist across regions in support of team members and group goals.
- Participate in annual recertification of panel counsel by analyzing firm-level billing trends and compliance.
- Monitor accuracy of the panel counsel map and other databases.
- Continuously assess and edit billing guidelines to ensure high-quality legal services.
- Provide Regional Manager with assessments on billing issues and patterns for firms in the region.
- Conduct onsite law firm bill review audits and develop standard reporting for feedback to business partners.
- Contribute to the update of the legal quality audit manual.

4. Customer Service:
- Provide high levels of customer assistance, guidance, and service.
- Respond to phone calls and emails within a business day.
- Enhance knowledge of the Claim Legal function and cross-train within the unit.
- Timely escalate customer concerns and assist in problem resolution.
- Provide customer assistance in claim utilization of the e-Billing platform.
- Cross-train on Claim systems to provide support to customers.

Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association accredited law school is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of practical experience is required.
- Active license to practice law in good standing in at least one state is needed.
- Practical experience in Auto, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Property Damage/Construction Defect, and Professional Liability is necessary.
- Strong foundation in litigation management and billing is required.
- Candidates should have superior technical skills to navigate various systems used by the team.
- A minimum of 3 years of legal experience in a particular discipline is required.
- Effective communication skills are needed for discussions with firms, training delivery, and presentation of billing practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel is necessary.

Salary Information:
The annualized base pay range for this role is $114,800 - $172,200. Actual base pay may vary based on factors such as performance, proficiency, and demonstration of required competencies. The base pay is part of the company's total compensation package, which may include bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
