**Members Only** is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Chief Staff Attorney to join our team. As the Chief Staff Attorney, you will play a crucial role in providing legal guidance and representation to the District and its staff. This is a full-time position with a start date of June 1, 2025, located at our District office in Fort Myers, FL.

To be considered for this position, you must have a Doctor of Jurisprudence from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of the Florida Bar. You should also have at least 10 years of experience in a related field, with 7 years specifically in educational, governmental, and/or administrative law. Additionally, you should have experience in education and district school board law, as well as supervising a team of attorneys. Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy the minimum qualifications.

In this role, you will serve as the legal advisor to the Superintendent and District staff, providing guidance on all legal matters affecting the District. You will also represent the Superintendent and staff in litigation, administrative proceedings, and other legal proceedings. Other key responsibilities include conducting legal research, supervising and managing departmental staff, and developing risk mitigation strategies for the District. You will also assist in negotiations for collective bargaining and stay informed about changes in laws and regulations related to the District's operations.
