Job Title: Internship with **Members Only**

Job Responsibilities:
Interns in **Members Only**’s offices, whether in Washington, ., or Virginia, play a crucial role in assisting with various tasks that help the Senator achieve his Constitutional obligations. Responsibilities include:

- Answering constituent phone calls and providing assistance to callers.
- Processing constituent correspondence and requests for assistance.
- Attending hearings and briefings, and drafting summaries of these events.
- Conducting research and producing written materials for legislative aides.
- Assisting the Senator’s communications team in drafting press materials.
- Leading tours of the historic . Capitol Building.
- Helping staff develop regional outreach calendars.
- Attending community outreach events.
- Preparing congressional inquiries.
- Supporting the congratulatory letter operation.
- Performing front office duties and basic office administration.
- Engaging in various tasks, both large and small, as needed.

Education and Experience Information:
To be eligible for an internship, applicants must have graduated from high school. Preference is given to candidates who have completed their first year of college and who either reside in Virginia or attend college in Virginia. All applicants must meet the specified requirements and submit their application by the listed deadline to be considered.

Internship Requirements:
- For Washington, . office internships, a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week is required during the fall and spring sessions. Summer sessions are generally full-time, requiring availability from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, unless an accommodation has been approved.
- For Virginia office internships, a minimum commitment of 12 hours per week is required during the fall and spring sessions. During the 10-week summer session, interns must commit to at least 24 hours per week.

Salary Information:
Interns who meet the minimum time commitment for an internship in either the . or a state office will receive a pre-tax stipend. The stipend amounts are as follows:
- A $1000 pre-tax stipend is available for those working between 12 to 23 hours per week for the entire session (applicable for state office interns only).
- A $2000 pre-tax stipend is available for those working at least 24 hours per week for the entire session.

Additional Information:
Interns must be authorized to work in the United States and, according to federal law, be a . citizen or meet one of three limited exceptions to receive compensation from the United States Senate.

- Fall (State): Mid-September – early December, with an application due date of August 12 at 10:00 AM.
