Job Title: Specialty Tax Services Intern, Customs & International Trade - Summer 2026

Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Intern in the Customs & International Trade division, part of the company's Specialized Tax Services – International department, will focus on developing basic research skills and applying their educational background to identify potential trade issues and opportunities. Under the guidance of more experienced team members, the intern will assist in advising clients from various industries on import and export matters. Key responsibilities include:

- Researching and assisting in the writing and review of international trade advice, particularly in areas related to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, the US-Mexico-Canada Free Trade Agreement, entry processes, and customs valuation.
- Investigating . and international import and export trade issues.
- Formulating and assisting in the delivery of potential trade savings opportunities.
- Collaborating with other specialists and client service teams on client and proposal work.
- Establishing relationships with customs experts within the company's international network.
- Learning to identify opportunities for and assisting in drafting tax alerts concerning international customs and global trade tax matters.
- Assisting client service team personnel in managing client expectations.
- Performing other duties as required.

Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Accounting (required).
- Pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Taxation (preferred).
- Enrolled in a Juris Doctorate, Master of Laws (LLM), or MBA program (preferred).

Experience:
- Leadership experience (preferred).

License/Certifications:
- Not applicable.

Software:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (required).
- Experience with RIA, BNA, and Lexis Nexis (preferred).

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and basic legal and tax research skills, including building models and analyzing financial and numerical data.
- Solid organizational skills, with an emphasis on meeting project deadlines and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask effectively while working independently or in a team environment.
- Capable of working in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to effectively manage a team of tax professionals and delegate work assignments as needed.
- Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with client personnel.
- Ability to interact successfully with professionals at all levels.
- Basic understanding of technical and practical issues and opportunities related to one or more areas of taxation and law.

Salary Information:
