Insurance Claims Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
The Insurance Claims Counsel will assist the Insured Claims Group Leader in implementing and overseeing the processes and procedures related to insured claims for the company and its related entities. This role aims to maintain consistency in processes, ensure the flow of information, and promote early resolution of claims to achieve the best outcomes for the company. Specific responsibilities include:
- Attending all claim reviews and providing advice and assistance on claims direction and coverage when necessary.
- Ensuring carriers operate within the parameters of carrier claim service agreements.
- Collaborating with the team to develop necessary reports from the RMIS system for various users and purposes.
- Working with the Construction Technology team and Insurance Data Analysts to enhance and streamline RMIS system processes.
- Managing major insured claims as needed.
- Overseeing career development, performance feedback, and mentoring of certain insured claims group members.
- Providing mentorship and training within the insured claims group, and RISQ and operations groups.
- Assisting with the development and training of other workgroups around claims handling best practices.
Claims & Incident Management:
- Managing all claims for the company and related entities, as assigned, in the RMIS system.
- Analyzing potential insurance coverage for all applicable lines and notifying appropriate insurance carriers with necessary documentation.
- Continuously evaluating claim-specific details to devise key strategies in conjunction with internal stakeholders, consultants, and adjusters.
- Acting as a liaison between parties involved, including carriers, internal project teams, regional risk managers, insurance controllers, clients, trade partners, brokers, consultants, and attorneys concerning claim progress, strategy, expenses, and settlements.
- Managing and coordinating with consultants, outside attorneys, and adjusters throughout the claim process to ensure prompt progression.
