Associate Attorney (Litigation) The candidate' will be responsible for researching and drafting motions, briefs and memoranda on various issues in the area of real estate and commercial law. This is a great opportunity for a starting attorney to learn complex civil litigation! Background knowledge in the following topics is a plus: Virginia civil litigation, drafting civil complaints, demurrers, pleas in bar, interrogatories, document production and depositions. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills. Responsibilities: Researching and drafting civil motions and preparing discovery, including demurrers, bills of particulars, interrogatories, document production and depositions; Attending Unlawful Detainers and Warrants in Debt return dates Research and draft memos on various topics related to civil litigation; Assist with preparing for depositions and trial, including gathering trial exhibits and preparing direct and cross examination templates. Should have 1-2 year of experience at a law firm; Virginia Bar License is a must; Law Clerk experience is preferred.
