Summer Internship Program
The OAG offers summer internships to students who have completed at least one year of law school or graduate school and to highly motivated undergraduate students who have completed at least their sophomore year. Summer interns are asked to commit to at least 20 hours per week for at least 10 weeks.
Internship Opportunities
The OAG has 16 sections, each with its own unique focus and responsibilities. Interns will be placed in one of the following sections based on their interests and qualifications:

Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys and legal staff on a wide range of legal matters and gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional legal setting. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend meetings, hearings, and other legal proceedings, as well as participate in legal research and writing projects.
Eligibility
To be eligible for an internship with the OAG, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a graduate or law student, paralegal, undergraduate, or highly motivated high-school student
- Must have an interest in the law and a desire to learn
- Must have strong communication skills and computer proficiency
- Must be able to commit to at least 20 hours per week for at least 10 weeks during the summer
Salary Information
Internships with the OAG are unpaid, volunteer positions. However, students may arrange externships with their schools for course credit or work-study opportunities with school stipends.

As the chief legal officer for civil matters in Connecticut, the Attorney General plays a critical role in advancing the public interest and protecting the rights of our citizens. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional legal setting and make a meaningful impact in our state.
