The DOL provides law students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the daily work of the state's civil attorneys. Interns are assigned to a specific DOL section, allowing them to specialize in their area of interest such as education law, civil rights litigation, financial transactions, or child protection proceedings.
Responsibilities: Research and writing, observing legal activities, attending court proceedings, client meetings, depositions, and special events, and participating in training sessions.
Locations: Newark, Trenton, Voorhees
Timing: Summer break, fall semester, spring semester
Sections: Law students may apply to work in one of 11 sections based in Newark, 14 sections based in Trenton, or 1 in Voorhees.
