Job Title: Director, International Tax
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide tax consulting services to public and private multinational clients, addressing the tax implications of their international operations, including business operating model optimization, supply chain planning, IP migration, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and internal restructurings.
- Identify complex tax issues, provide analysis and recommendations, and assist with designing and implementing comprehensive global tax restructuring and planning strategies.
- Review and analyze MS Excel-based computations and models of international tax computations, including projections and modeling of various scenarios for proposed planning.
- Review international tax opinions and memorandums.
- Oversee international tax compliance and accounting for income taxes.
- Collaborate with the global tax network and other service lines, such as Transfer Pricing, to deliver high-quality integrated work products.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients by understanding their business, identifying tax opportunities, offering proactive support, and providing exceptional client services.
- Manage risk, staffing, and financial performance for multiple engagements, including billing, collections, profitability, and project budgets.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and career guidance to engagement teams, including counseling and performance feedback.
- Foster relationships across the tax department and the rest of the company, developing a deep understanding of the firm's expertise to present clients with opportunities for additional support.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of the practice.
- Actively pursue business development opportunities and prioritize sourcing new relationships.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law (.).
- Licensed CPA or Licensed Attorney.
- 8+ years of experience in providing international tax planning, preferably in professional services (such as Big 4 or other consulting experience).
- 4+ years of experience managing teams and engagements.
- Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing teams.
- Proven experience serving as a trusted advisor to clients, with the ability to help clients understand and interpret analysis, deliverables, and recommendations.
- Prior experience leading others while managing risk, staffing, and financial performance for multiple engagements, including billing, collections, and project budgets.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to establish credibility and influence clients.
- Self-starter with a high degree of intellectual curiosity and initiative, capable of working successfully in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large complex engagements while overseeing multiple teams and ensuring excellence.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in written documentation of tax issues and analysis (., drafting of technical memoranda, step-plans, tax opinion letters).
Salary Information:
- The salary range is $130,000 - $175,000 annually, dependent on several variables including education, experience, skills, and geography.
- A discretionary bonus program is available, based on individual and company performance.
