SUMMARY:
- Seeking an experienced and highly skilled Assistant General Counsel, Real Estate to join the legal team at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
- In this role, you will review, analyze, and counsel on a variety of corporate real estate and commercial contracting matters.
- Collaborate closely with **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. staff and management to move forward initiatives for economic development, sustainability, and infrastructure improvement.
- Provide important legal advice related to operational needs and efficiencies.
- Negotiate, draft, and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Support paralegal and support staff in their duties.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review, analyze, and draft contracts related to real estate and commercial matters.
- Provide legal advice to various business and operating units within **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
- Review and analyze real estate and capital procurements for competitively bid contracts.
- Negotiate agreements with private counterparties and other agencies.
- Interpret and advise on **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s By-laws.
- Develop strategies and negotiate agreements for complex transactions related to large capital projects.
- Review and revise **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s template contracts and policies.
- Counsel on environmental and insurance issues related to contracts.
- Serve as the internal point of contact with outside counsel.
- Support paralegal and support staff in their duties.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree with 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate and contracting.
- Must have a New Jersey Law License.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Experience in general corporate law, in-house, large law firm, and/or public sector real estate preferred.
- Excellent communication, research, and writing skills.
- Strong business acumen, judgment, and analytical skills.
- High level of professional ethics, integrity, and executive presence.
- Experience in the transportation/transit industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with government and private industry operations preferred.
- Knowledge of regulated industries is a plus.
