Job Overview
A highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will possess 5 to 7 years of expertise in managing all phases of discovery, from preservation through production. The role involves advising clients, supporting case teams, and overseeing discovery processes to ensure compliance and efficiency. The Senior Discovery Attorney will also work closely with other professionals to develop eDiscovery protocols aimed at risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility.

Duties

  • Advise case teams and clients on all discovery phases, including preservation, production, and post-production.
  • Assist with pre-litigation information governance, post-production deposition/witness preparation, and trial preparation when applicable.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, case teams, and clients to develop and implement eDiscovery workflows and protocols.
  • Focus on risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility in all aspects of discovery.
  • Oversee the quality of work and deliverables from Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, technologists, and service providers.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across the discovery process.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state of practice.
  • Proven track record in managing complex discovery processes.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • eDiscovery certifications such as Relativity Certified Pro or Certified E-Discovery Specialist preferred.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal and technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in the preservation, filtering, and export capabilities of corporate messaging and productivity tools, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
  • Strong experience with Relativity is preferred.
  • Leadership skills to manage teams and ensure high-quality work.
