A law firm is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Associate to manage cases independently, maintain accurate billing, and deliver high-quality legal work. Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Manage litigation and probate cases from start to finish with minimal supervision.

  • Maintain accurate and timely billing to meet a 1,500 billable hour requirement.

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and mediations.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.

  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment while working independently.

  • Participate in business development efforts to build a personal book of business.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation.

  • Efficient and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Experience accurately tracking and billing hours.

  • Ability to manage caseloads effectively and independently.

  • Commitment to meeting a 1,500 billable hour requirement.

Bonus Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in litigation and probate.

  • Desire and ability to build a personal book of business within the firm.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the state bar where the firm operates.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting abilities.

  • Effective communication skills for client and court interactions.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently and manage a high caseload.
