Position Summary: Associate Attorney

GMS is seeking an Associate Attorney who will be responsible for managing all aspects of workers' compensation cases, including evaluating the merits of the case, providing guidance and counsel to clients, conducting medical reviews, and negotiating, settling, and litigating cases if necessary. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the defense of workers' compensation cases.

Essential Job Functions:

- Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity
- Create litigation and budget plans as necessary
- Conduct discovery and travel to court and other appearances
- Try cases while maintaining exceptional client interaction
- Compose legal documents such as motions, briefs, and correspondence
- Prepare cases for trial
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties
- Strong negotiation and communication skills

Other Job Functions:

- Some travel may be required for this position
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
- Typing and computer usage for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and demands
