Job Title: 2026 Summer Associate - Investment Management International Placement Program
Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the 2026 Summer Associate in the Investment Management International Placement Program is to engage in an immersive experience that aims to develop law students into successful investment management lawyers. The program includes a paid summer associate position in a sponsoring US office of the law firm, followed by the final two weeks spent in one of the international offices located in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, or Tokyo. Upon successful completion of the summer program and graduation from law school, participants may receive an offer to join the firm as an entry-level associate in the investment management practice of one of the US offices. After two years of employment as an associate in a US office, the participant will be transferred to one of the international offices to continue working in the investment management practice.
Education and Experience Information:
Eligible applicants must be second-year law students (2027 JD candidates) enrolled full-time in an ABA-accredited law school with an anticipated graduation date of 2027. Candidates must possess US work and travel authorization for the full duration of the program, as US work and travel visa sponsorship is not available for the 2L or post-graduation associate programs. Additionally, candidates should exhibit outstanding leadership skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to exceptional client service. A genuine interest in a career with the law firm’s investment management practice, particularly with the goal of residing and practicing in one of the international offices (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, or Tokyo), is essential. Preferred language skills in one of the international locations are also desirable.
Process:
Interested students are required to submit a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and a writing sample to support their candidacy. The cover letter should specify both the US and international office geographic preference, with any additional preferences ranked in order.
Salary Information:
The summer associates at the law firm are paid a weekly salary of $4,326, which aligns with the legal industry market scale. The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on factors such as prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package, which may include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. These benefits may include 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave, depending on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives a permanent offer of employment. Employees will be in an "at-will position," meaning the firm reserves the right to modify base salary and other discretionary payments or compensation or benefit programs at any time based on individual performance, firm or department/team performance, and market factors.
