Job Title: Student Intern
Job Responsibilities:
- Interns will be assigned to a specific section within the Division of Law, allowing them to specialize in areas such as education law, civil rights litigation, complex financial transactions, or child protection proceedings.
- Perform the full range of law clerk responsibilities, which includes conducting legal research and writing.
- Observe various legal activities including court proceedings, client meetings, and depositions.
- Participate in training sessions that are available to Deputy Attorneys General.
Education and Experience Information:
- The internship is open to law students only.
- Students are expected to be enrolled in a law program and have an interest in gaining practical experience in the field of law.
Salary Information:
- The internships offered are unpaid.
Additional Information:
- The internship opportunities are available during the summer break, fall semester, and spring semester.
- Law students can apply to work in one of 11 sections based in Newark, 14 sections based in Trenton, or 1 in Voorhees.
- The deadline for the summer program application is March 5.
