Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to join its Finance Department. This position is ideal for mid-level associates with 2 to 5 years of experience in commercial real estate finance at a large law firm. The role provides the opportunity to work on complex, high-value transactions across the country, including construction financing, structured finance, and preferred equity deals. The firm handles both lender-side and borrower-side transactions, with a primary focus on lender/capital provider work. Qualified candidates will enjoy close mentorship from partners and frequent client interaction.

Location:

  • Philadelphia, PA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in commercial real estate finance transactions

  • Draft and negotiate loan documents, equity agreements, and related transaction documents

  • Manage closings and coordinate with clients, lenders, and third parties

  • Work on deals involving construction loans, multi-tiered capital stacks, and structured real estate investments

  • Handle preferred equity, mezzanine loans, and complex capital structures

  • Provide legal advice on real estate finance across asset classes and markets nationwide

  • Collaborate with firm partners and support staff in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, preferably at an Am Law 100 firm

  • Background in handling a range of real estate-secured and structured finance deals

  • Experience representing lenders, capital providers, or borrowers in real estate transactions

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality legal work

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited . law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar license in the state of the preferred office location (PA, CA, or MD required)

Skills:

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills

  • Deep understanding of real estate finance structures and documentation

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities

  • Effective communication and client service skills

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
