Job Title: Tax Manager, Specialized Tax Services Partnerships
Job Responsibilities:
1. Tax Specialization:
- Maintain and develop a comprehensive understanding of technical and practical issues related to partnership taxation.
- Participate in organizing and conducting external CPE training sessions in the area of specialization at least once per year.
- Train and mentor associates, senior associates, and managers.
2. Research:
- Identify the need for research and clearly frame issues for analysis.
- Report research analysis concisely.
- Train associates and senior associates on research skills.
- Involve firm specialists as appropriate.
3. Tax Consulting:
- Assist in developing, recommending, and implementing methods to maximize client benefits by reducing current and future taxes.
- Apply tax knowledge to recommend solutions that maximize client benefits while managing risk.
- Implement applicable firm strategies and manage client expectations.
4. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise associates and senior associates on all projects.
- Review work prepared by associates and senior associates and provide feedback.
- Train associates and senior associates on software tools.
- Act as a career advisor to associates and senior associates.
- Schedule and manage workloads of associates and senior associates.
- Provide verbal and written performance feedback to associates and senior associates.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
Experience:
- Five or more years of relevant tax experience and/or experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services required.
- Specialized partnership experience required.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Private equity experience at both fund and portfolio company levels preferred.
License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred.
- Other applicable professional degrees or certifications preferred.
Software:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred.
