Associate General Counsel

Job Responsibilities
The Associate General Counsel will serve as the primary legal counsel and advisor on corporate, transactional, and compliance issues, initiatives, and projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of lawyers, paralegals, and administrative support personnel to provide timely, accurate, and actionable legal advice to stakeholders across the organization.
- Managing the corporate, transactional, and compliance legal program, overseeing day-to-day legal advice related to these areas.
- Advising senior leaders and stakeholders, including the Executive Team and Board of Trustees, on the legal aspects of strategic plans and programs.
- Providing legal counsel and representation to protect the organization’s rights, assets, and operations, ensuring compliance with applicable . and international law and policy.
- Collaborating with other legal office personnel on issues such as federal fiscal law, ITAR/Export Control restrictions, security, facilities, Congressional authorizations and appropriation, federal agency policies and procedures, state law and policy, executive orders, California corporate law, tax law, leasing, FAR/DFAR regulations, data management, and arrangements between the organization, government, and industry partners.
- Serving as a liaison with the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and other federal agencies, ensuring legal advice aligns with the Sponsoring Agreement’s requirements for objectivity.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel.

Education and Experience Information
- A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school is required.
- A license to practice law in any jurisdiction within the . is necessary, with preference for California, Colorado, Virginia, or DC. Membership in good standing of at least one . Bar is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of federal government fiscal, acquisition, contracts, and transactional experience is required. Preference is given to candidates with experience in cost-plus accounting, data privacy, DoD, NASA, the national security sector, and other civilian agencies in the space industrial base.
- Candidates should demonstrate intellectual curiosity, a commitment to continual learning, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A service-oriented mindset towards internal business partners and the nation is essential.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance issued by the US government is required, necessitating . citizenship.

Salary Information
The position offers a competitive compensation package, with salaries ranging from $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
