Job Overview:
A Houston-based law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with a solid background in civil litigation to contribute to a dynamic, high-paced legal team. This role involves hands-on engagement across the litigation lifecycle—from initial discovery through trial. Ideal candidates bring a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and prior exposure to insurance defense. Duties:

• Assist with case preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses

• Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony

• Participate in hearings, mediations, and trials as necessary

• Manage a varied and active caseload with minimal supervision

• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to achieve strategic legal outcomes

• Travel within Texas as needed for court appearances and client meetings

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Texas

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience

• Demonstrated familiarity with the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure

• Prior experience in insurance defense or trial work is strongly preferred

• Availability for occasional in-state travel, including air travel

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admitted and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas

Skills:

• Strong research and legal writing capabilities

• Effective oral advocacy skills

• High level of organization and attention to detail

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting
