Job Title: Senior Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Attorney at the company, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide legal support for the company's environmental operations, which includes counseling on all aspects of air, waste, and water-related regulatory compliance and enforcement issues.
- Lead legal support for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) due diligence in mergers and acquisitions transactions.
- Manage legal support for the company's remediation site portfolio, including reviewing and commenting on consultant reports, assisting in assessing financial assurance requirements, and counseling on priorities for site closure.
- Collaborate with the corporate environmental team on enterprise-wide topics.
- Work closely with environmental business partners to assess the legal impact on major business decisions.
- Collaborate with global Legal and Government Affairs colleagues to monitor and comply with global environmental regulations and impending legislation that may impact the company's manufacturing locations and corporate strategy.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in all facets of environmental law through continuing legal education, industry publications, and participation in professional conferences and associations.

Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required.
- License to practice law in Illinois or the ability to obtain an Illinois license (in-house counsel license is available to qualified applicants).
- A minimum of 8 years of experience planning, executing, and advising on complex areas of environmental law.
- A minimum of 8 years in the practice of law in a private law firm or corporate law department.
- Experience analyzing federal and state environmental regulatory requirements and assessing applicability to manufacturing operations.
- Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%.

Salary Information:
