Experience:
- Two or more years of state and local/multistate experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree or . preferred
- CPA certification or other relevant certification preferred
Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze tax implications, identify potential risks and changes in tax policy, and communicate with federal and state agencies
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations while minimizing tax and reporting burdens
- Develop and implement methods to decrease taxes and expenses for clients
- Review tax returns and identify potential issues
- Provide assistance with tax consulting and controversy work
- Utilize tax-related software and train staff on current software tools
- Develop an understanding of technical and practical issues related to one or more areas of taxation
- Review tax provisions and apply firm policies and standards
- Act as a mentor and provide performance feedback for STS SALT Associates
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and assist in the professional development of STS SALT Associates
- Introduce and develop new ideas to reduce taxes or expenses for clients
- Manage projects and handle questions from federal and state agencies
- Assists with strategy development and implementation of tax strategies
- Educate and advise professionals on state and local tax law
Salary Information:
- National Range: $73,500 - $131,250
- Maryland Range: $73,500 - $131,250
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $73,500 - $131,250
- Washington DC Range: $73,500 - $131,250
